Job Overview
McMillian Electric Company is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and supporting the overall accounting functions of the organization. This position requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Job Functions
- Support all accounting processes including fixed assets, accounts receivable, audit support, and commission calculations.
- Execute and own all accounts payable processes such as reviewing payment workflows, identifying errors and data gaps, and maintaining documentation.
- Identify and provide suggestions on processes that can be more streamlined.
- Communicate with internal and external business partners on inquiries, issues, and escalated requests
- Conduct timely research, analysis and decision-making for resolution of deductions, short/over-payments, and disputed items.
- Ensure compliance with regulations, internal controls, and company policies.
- Crosstrain in payroll processing, accounts receivable processing and other accounting activities.
Qualifications
Required
- Minimum of two years of experience in accounting/finance.
- Experience with online banking, ERP systems, and processing financial transactions.
- Proficient technical skills in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications including Pivot Tables, V-Lookups, formula building and sorting data.
- Positive attitude and highly motivated self-starter.
- Ability to work well independently and in a team environment.
- Detail oriented with strong problem-solving, analytic, interpersonal, communication and writing skills.
- High level of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to multitask under tight deadlines.
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration or related field.
- Experience working with Epicor.
