Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Lead Dental Assistant to join our dental practice. As the Lead Dental Assistant, you will play a critical role in ensuring smooth dental office operations while providing top-notch care to our patients. You will oversee the dental assistant team, collaborate with the dentist and staff, and ensure all procedures and standards are met efficiently and effectively.
Duties
- Supervision & Training: Lead and manage the dental assistant team, providing mentorship and training to ensure high levels of performance and professional development.
- Order all supplies for back office
- Patient Care: Assist in various dental procedures, including but not limited to fillings, crowns, cleanings, and other dental treatments. Comfortably communicate with patients to make them feel at ease.
- Clinical Support: Set up and maintain treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, prepare materials, and ensure compliance with infection control protocols.
- Equipment & Inventory Management: Monitor and maintain dental equipment and supplies; reorder as necessary to ensure the clinic operates without interruptions.
- Administrative Support: Assist with patient scheduling, charting, and ensuring that patient records are accurate and up to date. Assist in managing patient flow during procedures.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the dentist and other healthcare providers to ensure optimal patient care and office efficiency.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure that all state and federal regulations, including OSHA and HIPAA guidelines, are followed. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Quality Control: Ensure that all dental instruments are sterilized properly, and procedures are followed for patient safety and compliance.
Requirements
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Completion of a dental assistant program is preferred. RDA or CDA certification is a plus
- Certifications: Current state certification and CPR certification required. Additional certifications, such as X-ray certification, may be preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of [2] years of experience as a dental assistant.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in dental software and office management tools.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and instruments.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle stressful situations.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods, lift and carry dental equipment, and assist patients in physical procedures as needed.
