McNamar Residential operates Ashwood Glen Residential, a small 4-bed facility for residents 18-59 with mental health, intellectual and physical disabilities. This level of care is considered 4i and requires the highest level of supervision at times.
Summary
Under general supervision of the Administrator or Assistant Administrator, provides personal care, ensures a safe environment, and initiates behavior modification activities for adults 18-59, with metal health and intellectual and some physical disabilities.
Essential Job Functions

- Provides consistent and constant care and supervision of clients. Provides 1:1 care and supervision when directed by supervisor and when warranted to keep clients safe.
- Administers client medications per physician orders, promptly and accurately document medication administration in medication administration record (MAR)
- Facilitates client participation in all areas of their wellbeing including encouragement in activities of daily living (ADLs), house chores, hobbies, and daily exercise.
- Supports and enhances the clients' emotional stability by following procedures on client's Individual Service Plan (ISP) and other treatment guidelines
- Practice’s person-centered mentality by being patient with clients and listening to clients express their needs either verbally or through behaviors.
- Complies with policies and procedures of the facility.
- Completes daily tasks such as cooking meals, assist in laundry and other chores.
- Accurately and punctually completes all required daily documentation; Ensures all documentation is free of errors and is written objectively without personal interpretations. This is essential and staff must take appropriate amount of time to complete these tasks
- Maintains cooperative professional relationships with local community agencies significant to the continuum of care for clients by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with local agencies
- Maintains a cooperative and professional relationship with co-workers, administration, supervisors, clients and their families by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior
- Reports and records all unusual incidents, suspected abuse, health and safety issues to supervisor without delay
- Must attend off site trainings when required and obtain required certifications as needed throughout employment
Minimum Qualifications
· Must be 18 years or older
· Have a minimum of six months of prior experience providing direct supervision and special services
· High School Diploma or GED
· Able to pass or obtain exemption during background check if hired
Desired Qualifications
· Some education or background in psychology, social work or social services
· 1 year experience providing direct supervision of individuals with intellectual or mental disabilities
· Must have experience or be ok with handling various behaviors such as verbal outburst (including verbal threats), property destruction, anxiety, and depression
· De-escalation skills highlydesired
· DSP certifications desired but not required
· A valid State of California driver's license.
Environmental Factors and Conditions/Physical Requirements
· Working conditions are in home like setting; involves the potential for high stress levels and exposure to hostile situations or crisis situations
· must be able to maintain professional composure and clinical effectiveness.
· May be required to lift and carry items weighing up to 30 pounds and physically assist individuals who are non-ambulatory with ADLs
· Able to do repetitive tasks

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
