MCPU, a polyurethane manufacturing company located in Pittsburg, KS, is seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician with strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a team-oriented mindset. This position operates on a first-shift schedule from 8 AM to 5 PM, with occasional overtime required during peak seasons.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain all operational equipment and facility infrastructure to ensure seamless production.
• Facilitate process set-up and start-up as needed to support manufacturing goals.
• Collaborate with other functional departments to schedule downtime and execute preventative maintenance (PM) repairs.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and process issues efficiently to minimize production disruptions.
• Act as a liaison with vendors for equipment servicing, repairs, and upgrades.
• Participate in weekly safety meetings and uphold OSHA regulations to maintain a safe work environment.
• Other duties as assigned to support the maintenance and reliability of facility operations.

We Need Your Experience to Include:

• Minimum of 2 years of mechanic experience (industrial preferred).
• Strong troubleshooting skills with hands-on experience in preventative maintenance programs (PMs).
• Working knowledge of PLCs, electrical standards, and mechanical systems. Building construction and/or renovation experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Strong written and interpersonal communication skills to collaborate across departments.
• High attention to detail and results-oriented mindset.
• Familiarity with OSHA regulations and safe workplace practices.
• Ability to work flexible and extended hours, including Saturdays, as needed to meet business demands.

You Should Know How To:

• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical equipment to ensure operational efficiency.
• Conduct preventative maintenance to reduce equipment failures and downtime.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Communicate effectively with vendors, team members, and leadership to coordinate maintenance activities.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and other safety regulations.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Ability to climb and move around machinery to conduct maintenance and repairs.
• Ability to kneel, stand, bend, and lift 50 pounds as needed.
• Capability to work at heights and in varying industrial environments.
• Work primarily in a manufacturing setting with moderate exposure to noise, temperature changes, and mechanical hazards.
