Job Title: Assistant Project Manager

Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager to join our team at Matcon Construction Services Inc, a leading general contractor in the construction industry. The Assistant Project Manager will play a critical role in supporting the Project Manager in planning, coordinating, and executing construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Project Manager in all phases of construction project management, from pre-construction to close-out.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of project milestones.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, including schedules, budgets, contracts, and reports.
- Monitor project progress and address any issues or delays with proactive problem-solving.
- Assist in managing project budgets, tracking expenses, and processing change orders.
- Conduct site visits to ensure compliance with safety regulations, project specifications, and quality standards.
- Communicate effectively with clients, team members, and stakeholders to ensure alignment on project goals.
- Support procurement activities, including sourcing materials and negotiating contracts with vendors.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting of project status, risks, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Perform other duties as assigned to contribute to the successful completion of projects.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in construction project management or a related role.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and best practices.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project) and other construction technology tools.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to build strong working relationships with clients and team members.
- Detail-oriented and analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with local building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- OSHA 30 certification or equivalent safety training.
- Experience working with a general contractor or similar construction firm.
- Advanced knowledge of scheduling tools, such as Microsoft Project.
Working Conditions:
- Combination of office and on-site work, with exposure to varying weather conditions and construction environments.
- Occasional evening or weekend work may be required to meet project deadlines.

Schedule:
Hours: Monday to Friday, plus frequent evening and weekend hours required for meetings and deadlines.
