The Audiologist provides a full range of audiological services, including evaluation of the peripheral and central auditory systems as well as the vestibular system; plans and implements habilitative/rehabilitative measures and/or interventions as appropriate. Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for Hire: License or provisional license in the State of Virginia as an Audiologist and Hearing Aid Dealer required Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) preferred Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for continued employment: Current licensure as an Audiologist and Hearing Aid Dealer required within 90 days of employment Current CC-A certification preferred Experience REQUIRED: No work experience required – entry level Experience PREFERRED: One (1) year of work experience following certification preferably in an outpatient setting Education/training REQUIRED: Masters Degree in Audiology from an accredited program Education/training PREFERRED: Doctoral Degree in Audiology (AuD or PhD) from an accredited program Independent action(s) required: Provides patient care and diagnostic testing within license scope following physicians’ orders. Recommends appropriate cochlear implant/hearing aid options based on testing and patient preference. Supervisory responsibilities (if applicable): N/A Additional position requirements: Works in both MCVH and MCVP clinics as directed by supervisor.
