Job Description
We are seeking skilled individuals to fill the following positions:
Position 1: Melting Spare
- Monitor and maintain magnesium, silicon, and chill material levels. Additionally, change lime bags as necessary.
- Pouring Iron
- Weigh coke and lime before each charge, check the coke and lime scale.
- Clean the cupola long runner.
- Clean pig bed and transfer ladle pits and any other areas assigned by supervisor.
- Work with supervisor if ladles need to be repaired before the production run.
- Communicate supervisor/s on issues that arise.
Position 2: Casting Spare
- Check the temperature of the iron hourly, remove slag from iron by using skimmer.
- Remove buildup from quad ladle as needed, in addition to keeping the ladle full always.
- Ensure the trough is heated properly. Maintain the maintenance of the trough by removing slivers, iron buildup, slag, and blackening.
- Inspect machinery for mold defects.
- Operate control panels to operate machinery.
- Apply grease on spigot ring using a brush to spinning pipe mold. Remove iron from spigot ring and spill tray.
- Other duties that are assigned by supervisor/manager.
Position 3: Hot Line Spare
In this position, the team member will be trained and qualified to operate the following equipment:
- Oven Loader
- Oven Tender
- Weighman
- Grinder
- Cut Saw
- Transfer car #2 & #3
- Small and Large test Press
- Pipe roller
- Zinc Machine
Qualifications
We require:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Preferred: 2-3 years previous experience working in a manufacturing/warehouse environment
- Must be able to get along with all personnel levels
- Must work with others in a professional, supportive manner
- Ability to read policies and procedures
- Ability to follow all work directives and safety procedures
- Must be a self-starter
- Ability to read and understand English preferred
