The MD Anderson Innovation Center aims to create transformational change by identifying innovative ideas, strategies, and unique solutions to problems. Our team works alongside MD Anderson clinicians, researchers, patients, and operational leaders using observation techniques, stakeholder interviews, and market research to understand how to develop the next generation of digital technology solutions and design groundbreaking experiences.

The Innovation Principal develops and fosters business partnerships with operational and clinical champions, interacts with program leadership to help support the strategic planning necessary to enhance MD Anderson's mission, and acts as the lead on the introduction and implementation of strategic innovation initiatives.
The Innovation Principal will engage at deep levels across MD Anderson, working in small teams to identify and build the experiences and solutions needed to deliver sustainable returns on investments. In this role, the Innovation Principal will understand the problem to solve or the strategy to develop using interviews, workshops, surveys, site visits, workflow analysis, etc.
The Innovation Principal will also conduct market and competitive research to identify innovative solutions and experiences.
The Principal will critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, and distinguish user requests from the actual underlying needs. The Innovation Principal will also be responsible for developing/implementing the solutions, change management, quantifying the operational and clinical impact of the initiative, and sharing regular status updates with stakeholders.

Experience Required:
Eight years of experience in digital innovations, product research, product development, product analysis, human-centered design, a related design discipline (e.g. UX design, experience design, service design, graphic design), a related research discipline (e.g. design research, sociology, psychology), strategic business consulting, marketing communications, or related field. With preferred degree, six years of experience in one of the above mentioned areas.
