Clinical Psychologist for MacDill Air Force Base Mental Health Services

The Mental Health element at MacDill AFB enhances the health and readiness by providing mental health assessment, education, consultation, and treatment services to active duty service members through various evidence-based therapeutic modalities.
Services are typically a combination of individual and group therapy modalities based on individual needs.
POSITION QUALIFICATION/REQUIREMENTS:
- : Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or Psychology (PsyD).
- : Graduate from an American Psychology Association accredited college or university with a clinical or counseling psychology doctoral degree.
- An APA-accredited pre-doctoral internship or residency
- : Minimum of one year experience as a licensed clinical psychologist
- : Current, full, active, and unrestricted license in any state
- Minimum intermediate knowledge of computer systems and ability to work proficiently with word processing, data management and spreadsheet data analysis.
DUTIES:
- Conduct psychological evaluations utilizing information from clinical interviews, psychological testing, and collateral sources.
- Establish psychiatric diagnoses according to the American Psychiatric Association Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Disorders.
- Provide psychological treatment for individuals and groups; help medical and surgical patients deal with illnesses or injuries.
- Assist in rehabilitation of patients, Individual, family and group psychotherapy, and couples therapy, alcohol and drug treatment evaluations.\
- Consult with medical personnel, legal authorities, military commanders, etc
- Maintain accurate and current notes in both the Mental Health records and inpatient medical records of all patients seen, and if requested, produce reports of evaluation and/or treatment.
- Participate in military specific training (e.g., training to perform Command Directed Evaluations, security clearances, Military Training Instructor clearances, pre-post deployment screening, PTSD, and combat stress).
- Responsible for and applies psychological procedures and techniques, including interviewing, behavioral assessment, evidence-based therapies, and psychological testing/psychodiagnostic testing, in evaluating and diagnosing of disorders according to the American Psychiatric Association Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Disorders.
- Treating psychological and neuropsychological disorders.
HOURS:
- Monday through Friday; 7am-4:30pm
- No weekends, No call
