Job Summary:
- Client is seeking an enthusiastic Mechanical (HVAC) Engineer with experience supporting Power Generation and Heaving Industrial Projects in either our Mt. Laurel, NJ or Charlotte, NC offices. The successful candidate will have experience in HVAC and plumbing system design/modification along with a working knowledge of fire protection systems.
- Responsibilities include managing the mechanical (HVAC) project activities from conception to construction including onsite support.
- The successful candidate can look forward to projects including simple and combined cycle powerplants, nuclear projects, and plant retrofits throughout the United States that require all facets of mechanical (HVAC) engineering and design.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from a four-year accredited college or university
- Eight years of experience with the design of building services (HVAC, Plumbing and Fire Protection) systems serving powerplants, heavy industrial and commercial applications.
- Minimum ten years of experience with building services (HVAC, Plumbing and Fire Protection) systems serving the power industry.
- Must be a licensed professional engineer (PE)
- Any new hire will be required to be within commuting distance of either the Mt. Laurel, NJ or Charlotte, NC offices.
- Design of heating, ventilation, air-conditioning (HVAC) and plumbing systems serving heavy commercial, industrial, and power industries.
- Working knowledge of fire protection systems to support specification development, code review and basic suppression design.
- Perform equipment sizing, thermal load, ductwork sizing, piping pressure loss, potable water, and sanitary calculations.
- Develop procurement specifications, prepare engineering drawings such as piping and instrument diagrams (P&ID), airflow diagrams, plumbing riser diagrams, equipment plan, piping orthographic and ductwork layout drawings.
- Develop material and workhour estimates as needed to support proposal development.
- Exercise sound engineering judgment in assessing problem situations or complex issues, review completed work to ensure accuracy and compliance with codes and design criteria.
Salary : $120,000 - $140,000
