The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibrations. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Ear protection is required where designated.

General Description
This position works as part of a team assembling a variety of MDI products to the highest standards of quality, efficiency and safety. This position also performs the Work Center Supervisor duties and oversees staff when needed.
Principle Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of tasks including but not limited to; notch, punch, clip, assemble and package material (sew and wire if applicable)
- Operate various hand tools and equipment including but not limited to; air unit, double ram press, hand drill, belt sander, hand file, staple gun, glue gun, bander and foam machine.
- Ensure tasks are completed accurately based on Work Center Supervisor’s instructions and/or information contained in the shop packet.
- Work as a team with other Assemblers to ensure each step of the assembly process is completed accurately and efficiently.
- Read and understand engineering prints, use tape measures, caliper and other measuring instruments to ensure accuracy of work.
- Perform set-up and quality checks. Complete sign off worksheets to ensure accuracy of work.
- Look for ways to improve processes within the work center. Offer ideas and contribute to implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
- Backup Supervisor tasks, include but are not limited to; update PPM sheet, daily production board, inventory check list and labor hours, review production schedule, assemble shop packets, issue finished goods, submit carton pull and pick list, correct work center negatives and oversee staff.
- Assist in cross-training others in the work center to improve efficiency and knowledge of team.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area and maintain equipment in proper condition.
- Participate in safety training and ensure compliance of all Company safety standards.
- Exemplify a professional work demeanor upholding the Company Core Values leading by example.
- All other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications/Skills
- Ability to work well with others in a team environment to accomplish assigned tasks.
- Ability to read and work from engineering prints.
- Knowledge of metrology. Ability to use various inspection devices measuring within 1/16th of an inch.
Education and Work Experience
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
- Previous manufacturing experience in light assembly a plus.
Computer Skills
- Ability to use Microsoft Office applications (Excel & Word).
- Knowledge of Lotus and Mac-Pac software.
