Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized bilingual (Spanish) Legal Assistant to join our dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will have a background in immigration law and have worked in an immigration law firm setting. Speaking English and Spanish is a must.
Duties
- Provide administrative support to attorneys, including answering phones, managing calendars, scheduling appointments, and preparing legal documents.
- Assist in the preparation of case files and documentation for court proceedings.
- Maintain organized electronic filing systems.
- Perform data entry tasks accurately to ensure all client information is up-to-date.
- Communicate effectively with clients, witnesses, and other parties involved in legal matters.
- Draft correspondence and legal documents as required by attorneys.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Legal Assistant or in a similar administrative role within a law firm.
- Familiarity with Immigration Law is Highly Desirable.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent research skills to support case preparation and documentation.
- High attention to detail for data entry and document management.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
