Responsible to transport patients to and from scheduled services at InterCare or to other healthcare facilities.

Required Experience
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Possess a Michigan Chauffer’s license.
- Proficient in use of electronic devices (phone or tablet) to communicate to central dispatch, receive information and schedule transport appointments.
- Bilingual Spanish/English Required

Requirements
Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsible to transport patients to and from scheduled services at InterCare or to other healthcare facilities.
- Communicate with clinic staff and patients to schedule transportation service.
- Maintain up-to-date appointment calendar for others to view.
- Arrange to pick up patients in a timely manner to meet appointment schedule.
- Record all transport on transport log and submit documents for billing entry.
- Adhere to all InterCare transportation safety policies and procedures.
- Maintain current license, registration, or certification as applicable.
- Submit Michigan Chauffer’s license copy for employee file.
- Follow safety regulations and state law governing vehicle operation.
- Report accidents immediately to supervisor and to law enforcement as warranted.
- Coordinate storage of vehicle with facilities maintenance staff.
- Monitor routine vehicle maintenance to ensure proper operation.
- Ensure a daily checklist of vehicle is completed.
- Notify Facilities and Equipment Manager of mechanical concerns of vehicle.
- Adhere to all regulatory body, infection control, and organizational standards.
Job Duties
Job duties are performed during irregular daytime or evening hours outside of the typical office environment. The environmental factors and/or physical requirements of this position include the following:
- Extreme warm and cold weather exposure to and from the vehicle and clinic.
- Extensive travel using company vehicle.
- Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, frequently sit, and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Requires ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations.
- Requires good hand-eye coordination, reach with arms & hands, and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and manipulate (using keyboard, office equipment).
- Visual acuity to use keyboard, operate office equipment, and read printed material and regularly required to talk and hear.
- Extensive travel using reliable personal vehicle.
