Treatment Adherence SpecialistJob Summary
The Treatment Adherence Specialist plays a vital role in supporting the administration of the 340B program by ensuring clients receive their prescribed medications promptly and efficiently. This position focuses on client-centered care, working directly with clients to promote treatment adherence and resolve any challenges related to medication access.
The specialist will collaborate with the 340B Coordinator and other team members to deliver exceptional service, streamline program operations, and maintain compliance with program guidelines. Additionally, the Treatment Adherence Specialist will contribute to the programs overall success through proactive problem-solving, effective communication, and a commitment to client satisfaction.

Required Experience:
Education
This position requires long periods of being in a seated position and working on a computer. This position may require lifting of up to 50 lbs. May be exposed to outside weather conditions.

Duties And Responsibilities
- Client Support and Education
- Provide individualized support to clients, ensuring adherence to prescribed treatment regimens, including medications obtained through the 340B program.
- Educate clients on the importance of medication adherence, managing potential side effects, and implementing strategies to overcome barriers to treatment.
- Conduct regular follow-ups to assess adherence, address challenges, and provide continued support.
- Program Coordination
- Collaborate with the 340B program team to monitor medication dispensation and ensure compliance with program guidelines.
- Partner with medical case managers, pharmacists, and healthcare providers to streamline services and deliver coordinated care to clients.
- Outreach and Advocacy
- Conduct community outreach initiatives to raise awareness of treatment adherence resources and the 340B program.
- Data and Reporting
- Assist with data collection and analysis to support compliance audits and program performance evaluations.
- Ensure that all documentation aligns with 340B compliance requirements and organizational policies.
- Addressing Client Barriers
- Provide culturally competent, empathetic care tailored to the needs of diverse client populations.
- Medication Logging and Documentation
- Accurately record and track medications dispensed under the 340B program.
- Maintain compliance with program regulations and ensure proper documentation is prepared for audits.
- Communication and Coordination
- Communicate timely updates to staff regarding medication statuses and program requirements.
- Act as a liaison between clients and pharmacies to resolve issues related to medication access and delivery.
- Collaboration with Pharmacies
- Partner with pharmacy teams to ensure the timely processing of prescriptions and identify potential service gaps.
- Address and resolve client concerns regarding medication refills and access to treatment resources.
Required Experience:
Education
- High School Diploma required
- Associate degree preferred
- Willingness to attend 340B University and obtain certifications upon hire.
- Minimum of 1 year experience working in a pharmacy setting
- Experience as a project leader
- Working knowledge of Office 365
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work autonomously as well as under direct supervision required.
- A relationship builder who can work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work with diverse group of people
- Required Pharmacy Tech Certification or Willingness to obtain certification upon hire.
- A valid driver's license with a clean driving record for the last three years is required.
