Responsibilities Include
- Collaborating with Mead & Hunt’s nationally recognized transportation professionals to develop and deliver traffic solutions that address community needs and accomplish stakeholder objectives
- Performing field observations and collecting traffic data
- Learn and become proficient in at least one the following traffic engineering subdisciplines:
- Traffic safety assessments to identify rural and urban roadway safety issues and recommend short-term and long-term improvements
- Design of traffic control devices that include signing, markings, signals, lighting, and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) using CAD software
- Traffic operations analysis using the HCM and other advanced modeling tools to evaluate alternative and sustainable transportation improvements
- Signal timing optimization and implementation to reduce congestion and improve safety for all roadway users
- ITS concept operations planning and Systems Engineering
- Preparing design plans, technical reports and presentations
- Develop familiarity with the federal, state, and local design and analysis standards & guidelines
The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field from an accredited college or university.

- A passion to contribute to innovative solutions that improve our transportation systems
- Passed FE exam
- MicroStation and/or AutoCAD experience
- Synchro/SimTraffic, HCS analysis experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
