Represents the organization during customer interactions, works with general contractors and construction crews to resolve issues. Develops accounts and markets buildings to relevant market segments. Expected to meet determined sales targets and growth projections. With
assistance from engineering ensures projects are progressing to plan and budget. Presents a positive image to the
community and both internal and external customers.
- Sells buildings and building packages.
- Seeks, establishes and builds relationships with potential customers from new accounts to repeat orders.
- Works with estimating and design staff to develop quotes and bids with the goal of securing an order. May
perform some estimating and design functions based on need and capacity. - Resolve issues and concerns with customers and appointed representatives.
- Prepare monthly reports of results, monthly forecasts, annual operating plans, and strategic planning. Meets and
exceeds determined sales quotas. - Schedule and facilitate meetings between estimating, engineering, sales, production and dispatch to monitor and
control the status of all orders per the customer requests. - Research and facilitate the development of new products that align with profitable strategic growth.
- Review more efficient and cost-saving engineering designs and production methods pertaining to material flow,
tool flow, lumber usage, plant usage and set-up efficiencies in order to reduce material costs, labor costs, freight costs, or manufacturing costs. - Stay current and implement relevant trends and new technology that can be implemented to keep the organization
competitive, efficient and innovative. - Work with the marketing staff to develop strategic sales campaigns and initiatives. Attends key events and
develops customers and accounts. Adjusts sales and marketing strategies to meet current market situation. - The Buildings Outside Sales Representative reports to the Branch Manager. The Buildings Outside Sales Representative does not have any direct reports.
- Must be local and have knowledge of assigned territory. Candidates with established leads and/or customer contacts is highly preferable. Should have a positive reputation in the local community and able to successfully interface with community.
- Must posses a strong knowledge and have demonstrated experience with the construction industry specific to buildings. Candidates must already have a strong understanding of building construction techniques, materials, suppliers and key market concerns.
- Minimum of 3 years, preferred 5 in a sales role specific to construction.
- Knowledge of company product pricing, discount, and estimating formulas and guidelines.
- Ability to successfully interface with all internal and external customers.
- Excellent organization, verbal and written communication skills.
- Must have ability to operate independently.
