Meadow Green Memorial Park is currently seeking a cemetery weed wacker. This position is seasonal in nature, and is generally available between the months of April and November each year. Seasonal employment does not guarantee any future employment with Meadow Green Memorial Park, or any other division of our company.
Job Summary:
Responsible for maintaining the cemetery grounds by trimming grass, weeds, and other vegetation around headstones, monuments, fences, and pathways to ensure a neat and respectful environment for visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate weed wackers, trimmers, and other landscaping tools safely and efficiently.
- Trim grass and weeds around headstones, roadways, fences, features and trees.
- Assist with general groundskeeping tasks such as mowing, raking, and debris removal.
- Identify and report any damaged headstones, landscaping issues, or maintenance concerns.
- Ensure all work is completed respectfully and professionally in a cemetery setting.
- Maintain and clean equipment after use.
- Follow all safety protocols and use protective gear as required.
- Assist with seasonal maintenance, including leaf removal, snow removal, or planting as needed.
Qualifications:
- Experience using a weed wacker and landscaping equipment preferred but not required.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Attention to detail and respect for cemetery grounds.
- Ability to lift 25-50 lbs and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
- Dependability and punctuality.
Generally weed wackers will work approximately 20 hours per week. Hours each week are not guaranteed, and may be based on staff availability, needs of the business, and weather conditions. Total hours worked by any one seasonal employee are not to exceed 29 per week. Seasonal employees do not quality for company benefits.
Job Types: Part-time, Temporary
Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10 – 25 per week
