Job Summary:
Meadow Swim & Tennis Club is seeking an experienced Lifeguard Manager to oversee the daily operations of our lifeguard team and ensure a safe, enjoyable environment for all guests. The Lifeguard Manager will be responsible for staff supervision, training, scheduling, and enforcing water safety protocols in compliance with American Red Cross standards. This role requires active lifeguarding duties as well.
Key Responsibilities:
Staff Supervision & Training:
- Recruit, hire, and train lifeguard staff.
- Conduct regular in-service training to ensure all lifeguards maintain their skills and certifications.
- Supervise daily operations to ensure lifeguards are performing their duties effectively.
Safety & Compliance:
- Ensure all staff adhere to American Red Cross safety standards and facility policies.
- Monitor pool activities to prevent accidents and respond promptly to emergencies.
- Conduct safety audits and maintain emergency preparedness procedures.
Administrative Duties:
- Develop and manage staff schedules to ensure proper coverage.
- Maintain records of certifications, incident reports, and training logs.
- Assist with budgeting, ordering supplies, and maintaining equipment.
Customer Service & Facility Operations:
- Serve as the point of contact for guests regarding safety concerns and pool policies.
- Ensure a clean, well-maintained facility by coordinating with maintenance teams.
- Assist with planning and implementing special events, swim lessons, or water safety programs.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Current American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor (LGI) Certification (Required by May 1st)
- Current Lifeguarding (including deep water) with CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and First Aid (Required)
- Previous experience as a lifeguard supervisor or manager (Preferred)
- Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
- Required to work as a lifeguard
- Physical ability to perform water rescues and lift up to 50 lbs
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive pay ($27.50 per hour)
- 80% commission on all classes taught at the facility
