Position Summary
Oversees and manages transportation services for surgical patients traveling between their homes and the hospital on the day of their procedure and back home after discharge.
Job Duties
Coordinate transportation arrangements for surgical patients based on their scheduled procedures.
Create and maintain a schedule to ensure timely pick-ups and drop-offs for patients pre- and post-surgery.
Confirm transportation details with patients prior to their procedure date.
Contact patients to confirm transportation needs, provide pick-up times, and answer any questions about the process.
Address any patient concerns or special requirements, such as mobility assistance or medical equipment needs.
Ensure all transportation services comply with hospital policies and safety regulations.
Confirm that vehicles are clean, safe, and equipped for patient comfort and any necessary medical equipment (e.g., oxygen, wheelchairs).
Work closely with hospital transportation teams, contracted drivers, or third-party transportation providers.
Ensure drivers are informed about patient-specific needs and follow proper protocols for patient care.
Collaborate with discharge planners, nurses, or case managers to confirm post-procedure transportation arrangements.
Maintain accurate records of transportation requests, schedules, patient information, and any special accommodations.
Track and report on transportation performance metrics, including timeliness, patient satisfaction, and incident reports.
Address and resolve transportation issues, such as delays, cancellations, or patient no-shows, in a timely and efficient manner.
Develop contingency plans to ensure uninterrupted transportation services.
Provide compassionate and courteous service, ensuring patients feel supported and reassured during the transportation process.
Ensure clear communication about the transportation schedule and any changes.

Qualifications and Skills
Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
Sensitivity to varying cultures and ability to interact with a diverse population.
Proficiency in scheduling software and basic computer applications. Familiarity with hospital operations and patient care standards.
Previous experience in patient transportation, healthcare coordination, or a related field.
Bi-lingual in Spanish required.
Education, Experience and Certification/Licensure Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent; postsecondary education or certification in healthcare administration, logistics, or customer service is a plus. 1-2 years' experience in a customer relations driven industry
