Introduction:
We are seeking a compassionate, experienced, and flexible Teacher Assistant/Float to join our team and provide high-quality care and education to preschool aged children in our school. The Teacher Assistant/Float will be responsible for creating a nurturing and stimulating environment for children, assisting the Teacher with age-appropriate activities, supervision of preschool aged children. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and problem-solving skills and be able to work collaboratively with other teachers and staff.
Responsibilities:
Create a nurturing and stimulating environment for children, including providing emotional and physical support
Assist in the implementation of age-appropriate activities to promote the physical, cognitive, social, and emotional development of preschool aged children
Follow all policies and procedures related to the care and education of preschool aged children, including adhering to safety protocols and maintaining accurate records
Collaborate with other teachers and staff to ensure continuity of care and education
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
HS Diploma, CDA preferred Minimum of 2500 hours of experience working with children or CDA, or ECE Credential, or Associates or Bachelors
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Ability to be flexible and work with different children, teachers, and staff
Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers and staff
Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate activities for preschool aged children
Required:
Act 33, 34, and Criminal FBI clearances
Mandated Reporting
A theoretical and practical understanding of Developmentally Appropriate
Practice
Must annually obtain:
24 hours of appropriate training as required by NAEYC
Fire Safety Training
Emergency Plan training
Must obtain every 2 years:
Physical examination (with TB test by Mantoux method only upon hire)
Infant/Child CPR training
Pediatric First Aid training
