LABORATORY MEDICAL TECHNOLOGIST
This is a full-time, second shift position with weekend and holiday rotation required.
SUMMARY
In consultation with the laboratory manager and appropriate department supervisors, plans, coordinates and directs the daily activities listed; oversight of quality control, monitoring instrument function and maintenance, assures the accuracy and timeliness of test results, and performs laboratory tests in an assigned department, following approved procedures. Works with the Point of Care Coordinator, and also fills a role within the clinical and microbiology departments.
MINIMUM EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
Bachelor’s degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory, chemical, physical or biological; OR associate degree in chemical, physical, or biological science or medical laboratory or equivalent education and training as required by 42CFR493.1489(b). Certification with ASCP, AMT, or one of the national registering bodies is preferred.
