What are the responsibilities and job description for the Site Coordinator, Liberty (Randallstown) position at Meals on Wheels of Central Maryland?
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
Receiving meals from Meals on Wheels of Central Maryland:
Ensure that his/her facility, and all delivery equipment, is well maintained and kept clean.Responsible for maintaining relations with physical site owners:
Maintain awareness of any issues that could impact MOWCM ability to use site. (i.e. snow/ice on parking lot, major repairs scheduled for building, building closure on specific holidays.) as well as maintain friendly relations with landlordsResponsible for overseeing delivery of meals to clients:
- Ensure that the appropriate number of meals have been delivered in a timely manner, communicate discrepancies in the number or type of meals delivered, or their condition, to the Director of Food Services
With the support of the Volunteer Department, responsible for the supervision of the volunteers assigned to site:
- Provide training to new volunteers, assists with ongoing training by conveying standards and maintaining stated policies and procedures.
- Manage volunteer schedules and coverage
- Assesses projected volunteer recruitment needs, communicates needs to the Volunteer Department, and assists in the recruitment of volunteers.
Works with volunteers to ensure they know how to identify and report client concerns in Mobile Meals.
Conducts outreach in his/her assigned area to recruit additional clients, while simultaneously informing the community about opportunities to volunteer and give.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to work well with older individuals, disabled individuals, and individuals of all ages and cultures. Ability to manage volunteers.
- Highly organized. Ability to multitask.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time, lift 40 pounds, and fulfill the other physical requirements of the position.
- Ability to read, write and communicate fluently in English. Additional language skills (Spanish, Korean, etc.) a plus.
- Familiarity with community organizations/publications/sources of volunteers/clients desirable.
- Knowledge of food handling, sanitation, and safety techniques.
- Computer literacy
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One year's paid or volunteer experience supervising others or coordinating activities.
- Experience in working with volunteers desirable.
- Food service experience desirable.
- Current driver's license, dependable licensed and insured vehicle.
- Able to pass criminal background check.
