We're on the lookout for passionate individuals to join our Site/Kitchen Coordinator On-Call team. The Site Coordinator On Call will oversee Congregate Meal Services, including volunteer coordination and supervision, manage the Supplemental Nutrition Program for home delivery and congregate clients, and coordinate responsive services for food-insecure populations.

General Summary
Efficiently coordinate Meals on Wheels Congregate Meal Services, including volunteer training, scheduling, preparation of Senior Dining Services, and managing the Supplemental Nutrition Program for home delivery and congregate clients and responsive services for food-insecure populations. Provide general office support, corporate outreach, and community engagement as needed.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
- Manage the safe and efficient preparation of senior dining services following all Meals on Wheels People Food Service Manual procedures and Health Department regulations.
- Provide management and oversight of meal preparation, including scratch cooking, ethnic meal preparation, and service for the Meals on Wheels program and senior dining.
- Manage and maintain adequate levels of food and non-food items, ensuring product is safe, secure and properly stored.
- Establish a positive, welcoming atmosphere for all participants and volunteers.
- Assist in training and supervision of kitchen and dining room volunteers.
- Maintain high kitchen standards in sanitation and safety in accordance with all regulations.
- Complete all required administrative tasks as assigned.
- Participate in in-service training and attend required meetings.
- Support Meals on Wheels People events and fundraising initiatives.
- Uphold the mission, vision, values, and strategic plan of Meals on Wheels People, Inc
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education & Knowledge
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Associate degree in Culinary Arts or equivalent preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of food service standards.
- Valid Food Handler’s Certification or ability to obtain within two weeks of hire.
- CPR certified or ability to obtain within 12 months of hire.
Skills, Abilities & Experience
- Minimum one-year experience in food service; volume and scratch cooking preferred.
- Proven experience in effectively managing, engaging, and retaining volunteers.
- Bilingual/Bicultural English/Spanish, Vietnamese, Russian, Asian, or African languages is strongly preferred.
- Excellent organizational, record-keeping, time management, and multitasking skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with diverse populations.
- Strong problem-solving and solution implementation skills.
- Proficient in computer applications and MS Office suite.
- Quick learner of new computer programs; experience with client data management systems a plus.
Any satisfactory combination of experience, training and/or education, which ensures the ability to perform the work, may substitute for the above qualifications.
