Purpose:
- This position will support the operations of the construction project by assisting the site crew with duties such as: carrying materials, spotting equipment during operation, using tools for bolt up, performing manual excavation/backfilling using shovels, applying coatings and rock shield to underground pipe, and operating small equipment at the direction of management. The position will also complete all other duties as assigned by the Foreman and/or Superintendent.
Responsibilities:
- Works under immediate supervision in a team based environment
- Reports any problems or issues to supervisor for assistance
- Visually assists equipment operators by spotting during operation of equipment
- Perform job duties in a safe and efficient manner
- Must adhere to company policies and procedures
- Performs other functions/duties as required
- Working conditions are normal for a construction environment
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Roles requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, and safety shoes
- All other duties as assigned by the position’s direct supervisor
Physical Requirements:
- Frequent walking and climbing (stairs, ladders, terrain)
- Frequent lifting (up to and including 50 pounds)
- Frequent bending, twisting and standing
- Exposure to working outdoors in all-weather conditions
- Ability to work more than 40 hours in any given week including weekend assignments as required
Experience:
- 0-2 years of construction or related experience
Skills:
- Ability to clearly communicate with supervisors and co-workers
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, machines, equipment
- Ability to learn and gain knowledge
- Ability to follow work orders or receive instructions
- Ability to adhere to Safety policies and procedures
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred, but not required
Licenses or Certifications:
- OSHA 10 Certification Preferred
Travel:
- Travel is required
