Medical Device Electronics Assembler
POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for assembling high-quality medical devices while maximizing production yields. Under the direct supervision of the Operations Manager, performs component inspection, electrical equipment assembly, and packaging. Assembles micro components and electronic components using hand tools. Performs bonding agent techniques, with the aid of a dispenser. Performs micro-soldering on small leads to wires and solders leads to cable assemblies. Tests circuits and troubleshoots when necessary using multimeter or oscilloscope to find deficiencies in device assemblies. Visual inspection is executed with the aid of a stereomicroscope. Assembles sub-assemblies to the chassis and performs product performance testing. Maintains cleanliness to clean-area standards and performs duties with proper clean-area attire. Communicates technical issues to management and co-workers.
RESPONSIBILITY / AUTHORITY ASSIGNMENT:
Electronics Assembler reports to the Operations Manager
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily.
- Solder wires and micro components to circuit boards.
- Utilize breadboards to create a circuit.
- Utilize an Oscilloscope or Multimeter to troubleshoot electronic issues.
- Utilize a voltmeter to measure the voltage across parts of circuits to identify problems and ensure high-quality assemblies.
- Comply with established company policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, and environmental standards.
- Assemble raw materials into medical devices in accordance with the approved manufacturing process.
- Perform in-process quality checks on sub-assemblies and finished devices.
- Utilize small hand tools, calibrated instruments, measurement equipment, microscopes, and test fixtures.
- Facilitate repairs and service. Record properly in Service Records.
- Participate in line meetings as necessary.
- Work with engineers and technicians to resolve line issues and suggest improvements.
- Maintain accurate records /documentation relating to quality, work in progress, test results, labor (e.g. timecards), and special projects.
- Adhere to general safety rules, manufacturing procedures, company policies and procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), ISO13485, and MDD regulations.
- Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings, and workshops.
- Perform other duties as may be assigned.
Qualifications:
Knowledge of:
- Electronic assemblies.
- Circuits and the way they work.
- Small mechanical assembly practices.
- Soldering in small locations of boards and wires.
- Specification and Drafting Standards.
Ability to:
- Read, write and comprehend English.
- Utilize basic math skills.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external customers, and other Med-Logics personnel, both orally and in writing.
Experience/Training:
Any combination of experience and training that would provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required knowledge and abilities would be:
- To have worked in and EN/ISO assembly environment. A medical device-manufacturing environment would be optimal.
- To have worked using a stereomicroscope for either inspection or assembly processes.
