Job Overview:
The IT Support Technician will play a crucial role in maintaining the smooth
operation of computer systems, networks, and hardware within the company.
This role is focused on providing prompt and effective technical support,
troubleshooting issues, and ensuring that employees and clients can work
without disruption.
Role Accountabilities & Expectations:
• Provide first-line technical support to employees and clients, responding
to help desk tickets, phone calls, and in-person requests.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network-related issues, in a linear
fashion ensuring quick resolutions.
• Escalate support requests to L2/L3 when appropriate
• Install, configure, and maintain computers, peripherals, and software
applications.
• Assist with onboarding new employees and clients by setting up
workstations, user accounts, and system access.
• Document incidents, support processes, and resolutions in the help desk
system.
• Maintain IT inventory and track hardware and software assets.
• Support the IT team with various projects and upgrades, including
network maintenance and system rollouts.
• Educate users on best practices for using company systems, hardware,
and security policies. This includes both employees and clients.
• May require occasional travel to the corporate office located in Colorado
Springs, as directed by the IT Director.
• Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills:
• Strong knowledge of Windows and macOS operating systems.
• Familiarity with troubleshooting hardware components, including
desktops, laptops, and peripherals.
• Basic understanding of network protocols, routers, switches, and
firewalls.
• Experience with Active Directory and Office 365 administration.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical
issues effectively.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to assist
both technical and non-technical users.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently.
• Customer service orientation and a collaborative approach to working
with clients and colleagues.
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certifications
in IT-related fields are a plus.
• Proven administrative assistant experience, preferably in an IT or
technical environment.
• Basic understanding of IT concepts and technology.
• Proficiency in office software such as Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to successfully complete all required T1 pre-employment
screenings including a background check and pre-employment drug
screen; must remain incompliance with our drug-free workplace policies,
including all applicable federal laws.
Physical Requirements (as required by OSHA and ADA):
• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Pushing, pulling and lifting objects from a lower to a higher position or
moving objects horizontally, from position to position.
• Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling while walking, standing,
crawling, or crouching on narrow, slippery or erratically moving surfaces.
• Climbing and ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps.
• Must be able to carry loads greater than 15 pounds and exert up to 20
pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 15 pounds of force frequently.
• Hearing sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction.
• Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth
perception and the ability to adjust focus.
