What are the responsibilities and job description for the Buyer position at Medcare Equipment Company LLC?
Job Summary/Job Purpose:
The Buyer is responsible for processing, updating, and maintaining purchase orders within assigned commodities to ensure adequate inventory is available through both internal warehousing and external dropship programs. They will communicate with existing and future supply base regarding price quotes, price maintenance, and product availability. They will ensure on-time delivery of goods and address any shipment issues or delays. The Buyer will maintain accurate item master records for their assigned commodities. Hybrid work option available with 2 days remote.
Job Duties / Essential Functions:
- Process and follow status of daily purchase orders
- Purchase order maintenance including status updates, price updates and dropship receipts.
- Ensure on time delivery and maintain shipment tracking records
- Update computer files with product, vendor, and pricing information
- Build professional relationships with vendors
- Facilitates returns with vendors
- Place orders for supplies for various warehouse locations
- Run daily reports for Purchasing and Finance teams
- Communication liaison to Customer Service Representatives
- Conducts oneself in professional manner.
- Regular, consistent, and on-time attendance.
- Maintains a tidy and orderly workplace
- Completes quality work timely, accurately, and efficiently
- Follow department policy regarding scheduling, breaks, start/quit time, properly notifies department supervisor when reporting off, early leave or late arrival.
- Completes mandatory education timely.
- Performs other duties as required.
Skills / Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- One year purchasing experience (preferred)
- Strong research, analytical, and negotiation skills.
- Professional communication both internal & external
- Must maintain high level time management skills.
- Functional skills on a PC and related software
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs Excel is preferred
