Medcentrek is seeking a Phlebotomist to work at the VA Maine Healthcare System (1 VA Center, Augusta, ME 04330) on a 6 month to 1 year contract.
Position Description:
Services Provided/Scope/Purpose:
Technical Requirements: The Contractor’s personnel may work in multiple areas of the lab as determined by the needs of the service at that time and shall be responsible for providing the following service
Phlebotomist
· The employee will perform patient phlebotomy to include inpatient ward rounds, inpatient and outpatient, Emergency Department (ED), STAT, as soon as possible (ASAP), and timed draws.
· The employee will perform sample processing and send out preparation.
· As part of safety, positively identifies patients prior to sample collection and samples prior to testing or aliquoting.
· As part of safety and safeguards electronic and paper patient information. Independently tests, evaluates, documents, and reports patient testing and Quality Control (QC); identifies, documents, and resolves any collection, processing, testing or reporting issues. Assures patient-centered care and provides service in a manner that is professional and will avoid complaints from all stakeholders and customers.
Qualifications:
The Phlebotomist assigned by the Contractor to perform the services covered by this contract must have three (3) years of recent Phlebotomy experience.
Work SchedulE:
Phlebotomists will be working a Monday – Friday plus weekends and holidays as needed. Shifts vary from 8:00AM and ending at 6:00PM
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $19.00 - $24.00 per hour
