Job Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Training to join our organization. The Director of Training will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive training programs to enhance the knowledge, skills, and performance of our employees. This position requires strong leadership abilities, exceptional communication skills, and a passion for employee development.
This hybrid role will work 2-3 days a week in our corporate office in McHenry, IL, and the other days remote. The schedule will be Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm CT.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement training strategies, policies, and programs to meet the organization's goals and objectives.
- Collaborate with department heads and subject matter experts to identify training needs and ensure alignment with strategic initiatives.
- Design, deliver, and evaluate training programs, including new hire onboarding, leadership development, technical skills training, and compliance training.
- Utilize a variety of training methods and techniques, such as classroom training, virtual learning, e-learning, and job shadowing, to deliver engaging and effective training sessions.
- Oversee the creation and maintenance of training materials, resources, and online learning platforms.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training initiatives, making improvements as necessary to drive performance and enhance employee development.
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices in training and development, incorporating innovative approaches to ensure continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with external training vendors, consultants, and professional associations to leverage resources and enhance the breadth and depth of training programs.
- Manage a team of Training Managers, Training Coordinators, and Trainers providing guidance, coaching, and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Training and Development, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Proven experience in designing and delivering successful training programs, preferably in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of instructional design principles and adult learning methodologies.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage and inspire diverse audiences.
- Strong leadership abilities with a track record of successfully managing and developing a high-performing team.
- Experience with learning management systems and e-learning platforms.
- Ability to assess training needs, develop effective training strategies, and measure the impact of training on organizational performance.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple initiatives and meet deadlines.
- Ability to build collaborative relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Proactive and innovative mindset with a passion for continuous learning and improvement.
