Summary
The Community Relations & Digital Marketing Associate will plan, create, implement, and monitor social media, website, and digital programming that will help achieve Medford Cooperative’s business objectives and goals. As a part of the marketing team, this role will be involved with broader marketing objectives, internal and external communications, and community programs and events.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include to use social media platforms to enhance our digital presence through engaging, high-quality content that builds brand awareness, promotes products and services, and keeps Medford Cooperative connected with the communities that it serves. This will be aligned with the overall business objectives and focus of Medford Cooperative. This role will have knowledge of graphical tools and create assets for online and offline marketing campaigns, and internal and external communications. This role is new and the job description is dynamic, meaning the job duties may change as the position evolves.
Content Creation
- Develop, write and design posts, including graphics, photos, videos, and copy for various platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.)
- Layout and design internal and external communications (newsletters, print advertising, signs, billboards)
- Assist in execution of ad concepts, both digital and print.
Digital Administration
- Work with Community Relations & Marketing Manager to develop and implement the company’s digital and social media strategy, coordinating with the departments to ensure its effectiveness and encouraging adoption of relevant social media techniques.
- Oversees social media presence and day-to-day activities on all relevant platforms.
- Serve as the primary advocate of social media spaces, engaging in dialogues and answering questions where appropriate.
- Further App development for customer engagement with customer loyalty programming and marketing efforts.
- Make changes necessary on Medford Cooperative’s website and search engines such as Google and Bing.
- Optimize and maintain our web presence through effective content management, SEO, SEM, and enhanced programming, including monitor and responding appropriately to reviews on Google and other areas.
- Develop and launch email marketing programming.
- Measure the impact of digital programs, and analyze, review, and report on effectiveness of campaigns in an effort to maximize results.
Community & Employee Engagement
- Assist Community Relations & Marketing Manager with community outreach and events.
- Assist with employee engagement programs such as meetings, newsletter, appreciation events, and volunteerism.
- Help to engage community, customer, and employee groups through our Annual Meeting, Scholarship Golf Outing, Customer Appreciation & Patron Events, special retail events, and other.
- Associate Degree in Marketing, Digital Marketing, Graphic Design, or two years’ experience
- Experience working in digital marketing and managing social media accounts for business
- Experience in social media strategy and proficient in social media applications
- Sound understanding of search engine optimization (SEO) practices and strategies as it aligns with various digital content
- Experience in using tools such as WordPress, Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud, CRM and email marketing platforms, or other relative programs
- A creative mindset with the ability to think outside the box to develop new ideas
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with an eye for detail
- Effective collaboration and relationship-building
- Excellent organizational, planning and decision-making skills
- Ability to analyze problems and develop solutions
- Ability to communicate positively and adapt to changing priorities and environments
- Experience in photography and videography a plus
- Must have a valid driver’s license and be insurable
Working Conditions
- Position requires this candidate to work 45 hour per week in this full-time salaried position.
- Schedule may include evenings and weekends for special events.
- Fast-paced environment
- Smoke-free environment that will be primarily indoor work but at times may be exposed to heat/cool outdoor temperatures as well as when entering coolers or freezers.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of ten (10) pounds frequently and up to fifty (50) pounds occasionally.
- May occasionally require frequent bending, squatting, stooping and standing up to 8 hours per day.
