Position: Customer Service - Logistics / Trucking
Reports to: Customer Service Manager
Overview: Work closely with existing customers, Outside Sales Representatives, and trucking companies to ensure customer satisfaction.
Medford Nursery, a producer of quality container grown plants, has as opening for a full-time, year-around Associate to join our Trucking Coordination team in Medford, New Jersey.
Working closely with the Logistics Coordinator, the qualified applicant will have proven and effective communication skills to professionally interact with customers. Candidates must be computer proficient and possess the ability to quickly learn new computer applications. While working in a rapidly paced environment the self-motivated individual must maintain a drive to deliver customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
· Build, configure, schedule, and route customer deliveries
· Schedule customer deliveries and pick-ups
· Maintain frequent contact with customers regarding deliveries and pickups, solicit additions to fill trucks.
· Monitor shipments, communicate order changes or shipping delays to customers and sales representatives
· Resolve any customer concerns and assist with issuing credits
· Communicate with shipping dock any special instructions regarding trucks loading, truck changes, truck ETA, and any returning material on trucks
· Keep production managers informed of shipping schedule so they can make the necessary adjustments to accommodate the schedule.
· Communicate with customers and sales representatives any foreseeable issues with freight charges prior to shipping an order
· Work closely with trucking companies to ensure timely deliveries, and excellent customer service to our customers.
· Negotiate rates with existing trucking companies to get better rates
· Continue to look for new trucking companies that offer competitive rates and services
· Communicate all delays that will affect the successful delivery
· Perform daily logistics activities such as creating shipments, scheduling appointments, tracking shipments, obtaining/negotiating rates, and tendering freight to partner carriers.
· Other duties assigned
Requirements:
· High School Diploma or GED.
· Office experience in a fast-paced environment
· Proficient with computers, Microsoft Office and have the ability to learn new software programs quickly and efficiently
· Must be an organized, detail-oriented, self-starter
· Experience providing exceptional customer service
· Effectively manages time and consistently meets deadlines with some guidance from manager
· Excellent organization skills, detail oriented, and have the ability to handle multiple priorities to meet required deadlines.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000.00 - $47,000.00 per year
