We are looking for a Full Time Dispatch Manager to work in our Camp Hill office.
The successful candidate must posses the following criteria:
- Knowledge of principles and practices of supervision.
- Knowledge of office practices (including customer services) and procedures
- Skilled in supervising staff, organizing, and prioritizing work.
- Skilled at receiving and transmitting messages accurately using appropriate equipment.
- Able to resolve problems and making decisions.
- Able to make decisions in emergency or high-risk situations.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other APS personnel, officials, and the general public.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment with strict deadlines
- Ability to identify training needs and initiate appropriate training methods.
- Ability to interpret and explain appropriate work instructions and guidelines to subordinate employees.
- Ability to write and interpret goals and objectives in order to evaluate work products.
- Ability to maintain composure under stressful conditions.
- Strong office experience
- Strong MS office experience (Excel a must)
- Excellent phone skills

- Communication and interpersonal skills and techniques as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc., sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Supervises the daily activities and operations of drivers.
- Supervises assigned staff, including establishing workloads, prioritizing work assignments, evaluating employee
- performance, interpreting and enforcing policies and procedures, resolving staff issues, making hiring or termination
- decisions/recommendations, and administering disciplinary action as required.
- Evaluates, recommends, and coordinates required certification/recertification training for staff.
- Oversees the preparation of shift schedules and makes recommendations for schedule adjustments during staff
- shortages.
- Prepares, reviews, and compiles statistical reports and operational data for dispatch center to ensure compliance
- with performance measurements and develops recommendations for employee recognition and/or corrective action.
- Assists staff with answering phones calls as needed, investigates complaints, and
- makes recommendations for resolution.
- Coordinates and evaluates the timely receipt, dispatch, and completion of transportation requests.
- Supervises the collection and storage of dispatch communication and travel records.
- Ensures compliance with Pennsylvania state laws as it pertains to training and certifications.
- Required to have prompt, regular attendance in-person and be available to work on-site, in-person during regular
- business hours.
- Performs other duties as assigned by an appropriate member of management.
Hours of the position are Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm
