Trust Accounting Associate – Entertainment Industry
Location : Century City (Hybrid work schedule after training)
Pay : $24-27 / hour (based on experience)
Temp-to-Hire Opportunity About the Role :
Seeking an accounting professional with experience in residuals, participations, or royalties, ideally within the entertainment industry.
Key Responsibilities :
Ensure accurate entry of financial data from contracts and participation reports.
Identify discrepancies in participation statements and flag potential audit opportunities.
Maintain relationships with studio accounting teams for reporting and compliance.
Prepare and distribute reports on contractual financial obligations for new releases.
Investigate and resolve client payment issues, ensuring proper allocations.
Collaborate with agents and assistants to address financial inquiries.
Manage collections and escalate unresolved issues when necessary.
Perform month-end close for A / R, ensuring revenue is booked accurately.
Analyze general ledger accounts related to commissions and receivables.
Assist with ad hoc financial projects and support business affairs requests.
Contribute to budgeting efforts by identifying variances and corrective actions.
Conduct training sessions for new assistants on accounting procedures.
Participate in special projects and process improvement initiatives.
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
Minimum of 3 years in accounting, preferably in entertainment.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Experience with 10-key and a typing speed of 45 WPM is preferred.
A proactive team player with a strong sense of integrity and confidentiality.
Pay Details : $24.00 to $27.00 per hour
