Position Overview: 

Assist employees and their dependents on various benefit plans, while serving as a back-up to Employee Benefits Senior Manager.

Position Responsibilities:

• Administer benefit programs.

• Oversee disability plan.

• Conduct benefit orientations.

• Process benefit enrollments/changes, employee terminations and status changes in HR system.

• Work with benefit vendors.

• Coordinate wellness initiatives (blood drive, walking challenges, etc.).

• Research and resolve benefit issues including claims assistance.

• Assist with Open enrollment and ACA (Affordable Care Act).

• Conduct annual benefits webinars.

• Maintain employees benefit files.

• Manage and administer employee leave of absences.

Experience/Skills:

• High School Diploma Required, Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

• 1-2 years of HR experience required, 1-2 years benefits experience preferred.

• Knowledge of benefits and claims processes.

• Knowledge of HR benefit laws such as FMLA, ADA, COBRA.

• Knowledge of HRIS (HR Information System).

• HIPAA certified.

• Detail oriented.

• Organizational skills required with the ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.

• Must be able to communicate with people in potentially stressful situations and work well under pressure.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Publisher.

• Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgement. 

Physical Requirements:

• Extremely Light – Physical effort normally found in clerical work or the equivalent. Work is primarily sedentary; however, occasional handling of small objects (up to approx. 10 lbs.), and occasional walking or standing may be required.
