We do a strong mix of on-location work and studio work out of our commercial photography / video studio near Westport Plaza. MediaLab is looking for a new shooter / editor to join our studio team. You will be working in our commercial photography studio preparing and executing shoots, along with a large amount of post production work in photoshop laying out a wide range or deliverables for various client social media accounts, websites, print and digital advertising.
NOTE: This is a sub-contractor (1099) position, no equipment required. You must have a reliable vehicle, valid drivers license, and you must come to studio, this is not a remote position.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Use a Digital SLR camera, tripod, lighting and other professional photographic equipment in order to efficiently set up and execute photography and video productions to accurate and exacting standards.
- Effectively understand aperture, shutter speed, ISO, focal length, frame rates, perspective, framing, rule of thirds, etc and how they affect the ultimate outcome of a finished product.
- Working knowledge of Canon photography and video equipment, continuous lighting, strobe lighting, sound recording equipment, lav, shotgun, and boom microphones.
- Studio photography - small to large product, white background, e-commerce photography
- Set up and produce time lapses
- Comfortable working events, shooting "on-the-Fly" with minimal direction.
- Responsible for managing, securing, and organizing cameras, lenses, lights, and other studio equipment.
- Must be able to multi-task, maintain a schedule, adapt and think on your feet as priorities arise and change, keep yourself organized, pay very close attention to detail, troubleshoot technical aspects of the subject matter and strive for perfection in your work.
- Reliability, punctuality and flexibility are critical to this position. Arriving early in order to be set up and ready to conduct a photo/video shoot is imperative. Working early morning or late evening hours in order to accommodate the ideal timing of photo shoots that mesh well with the operating hours of the businesses you will be photographing is also necessary.
- Must have a reliable automobile and clean driving record in order to travel and be on location multiple days throughout the week.
- Consistently meet and exceed the requirements set forth by our clients and partners, and maintain a high level of accountability for all processes related to shooting the photos, videos and subsequent fulfillment.
- Follow established protocols with the use of all company equipment and materials including but not limited to: cameras and photo equipment, design software, email, phone, and internal and external databases.
Working Conditions
- Ability to lift and/or move client products, camera and grip equipment, and/or supplies as needed weighing up to 45 pounds.
- Ability to periodically travel the Saint Louis area and occasional out of state travel.
- Work outside typical office hours as needed.
