What are the responsibilities and job description for the IT Delivery Manager – Commissions position at Medica?
This position is responsible for leading and managing agile delivery for the Commissions product with our Sell Products product family within our Software Engineering team. They are responsible for all aspects of agile delivery including requirements, engineering, and quality assurance as well as product support. They will partner with other Business enablement and IT enablement teams to deliver mission critical functions that help grow Medica’s business. They will ensure delivery to meet Medica’s business objectives leveraging an internal agile team as well as vendor and technology partners.
The candidate will have extensive knowledge in software engineering and agile disciplines. Candidates must have knowledge of information technology concepts, strategies, and methodologies as well as knowledge of best practices and procedures.
Key Accountabilities:
The Sell Products product family supports the products used by our Markets organization to Sell health insurance products via our Inside Sales team and third-party Brokers with 7 agile teams. This role will be responsible for 2 agile teams (Commissions and the Broker Sales Commissions Run Team). The Commissions team supports and develops solutions around the processes bring data into the commissions process from upstream systems, the commissions processing, and the commissions payout process. Broker Sales Commissions Run Team supports the run the business and incident processes of all Commissions and Broker applications including some small enhancement work.
The Manager works with IT and business teams in initiating, structuring, managing and directing the successful delivery of products, programs and/or roadmaps. Manages the activities of individual contributors on the product teams. The Manager is ultimately responsible for ensuring the goals and objectives of the assigned programs and product teams are met and ensures that the interrelationships between process, people and technology are defined, managed and controlled.
The full salary range for this position is $111,200 - $190,600. Annual salary range placement will depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, education, work experience, applicable certifications and/or licensure, the position's scope and responsibility, internal pay equity and external market salary data. In addition to base compensation, this position may be eligible for incentive plan compensation in addition to base salary. - Hold teams accountable for PI commitments; role does not assign work or set commitments for PI; partners with Product Owners to ensure delivery needs are included in PI planning
- Strategy: Responsible for specific input to Product / Product Family roadmaps and architectural enabler features
- People Management: Hiring and Retaining team members, Performance Evaluations, Onboarding, Team Assignment and Planning, Skills Set Identification and Development, and Coaching.
- Team Engagement: Participate in Agile Ceremonies, drive adoption of the Operating and Delivery Model, Engage in the development of the Product Roadmap, advocate for continuous improvement based on outcomes of Inspect and Adapt sessions, help teams work through issues.
- Delivery and Engineering: Owner of Vendor Relationships, Point of escalation for teams and business partners, monitor work flowing to teams and ensure appropriate processes have been followed, provide oversight for medium and large initiatives that require cross team/cross business area participation
- Bachelor's degree in business or IT or equivalent experience
- Five years’ experience within IT directing the work of others as a formal or informal leader in an Agile Development environment with experience in two or more of the following areas: business analysis, application development, quality assurance/testing, agile delivery or project management.
- Ability to perform business and technical analysis to identify technology needs,
- Strong Leadership and management skills
- Ability to manage, direct and engage team
- Ability to resolve issues
- Project Mgmt and time tracking solutions
- SAFe Agile Certification a plus but not required
- Experience with external facing web or mobile applications
