Job Summary: The information technology Specialist provides comprehensive assistance in, but not limited to, help desk support, workstation maintenance, network maintenance, and server management within a VMware environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in IT principles be customer service-oriented, and possess a keen interest in securing, maintaining, and improving Medical Care PLLC's technology infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle first-level support.
- Assist in the deployment of new or improved technology solutions.
- Troubleshoot and find solutions to issues that affect the overall system performance at Medical Care PLLC.
- Work as project owner for issues that need escalation.
- Follow up with staff, provide feedback, and see problems through to resolution.
- Utilize excellent customer service skills.
- Ensure proper recording, documentation, and closure of tickets.
- Recommended procedure modifications or improvements.
- Preserve and grow their knowledge of evolving Information technology to recommend solutions and train staff on current and future technology solutions.
· Act as a liaison between outside companies and Medical Care PLLC for issues that involve computer or technical issues
- Assist in training the staff and patients of Medical Care PLLC.
- Assist in identifying opportunities for the appropriate and cost-effective investment of financial resources in IT systems and resources,
- Assist in protecting and securing the Information Technology infrastructure by following the appropriate security matrix.
- Operate as a key IT team member for Medical Care PLLC.
Networking and Server Maintenance:
- Assist in performing network maintenance to ensure networks operate correctly and securely with minimal interruption.
- Assist in the administration of servers, desktop computers, printers, routers, switches, firewalls, phones, smartphones, software deployment, security updates, and patches.
- Assist in the management of VMware environments, including VM creation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Help ensure that security threats are minimized where possible.
- Follow all State and federal regulations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent.
- Proven working experience in providing help desk support.
- Strong client-facing and communication skills.
- Advanced troubleshooting and multi-tasking skills.
- Customer service orientation.
- Be able to operate within the IT team structure.
Certifications (Preferred):
- VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
- CompTIA Network
- Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP)
Working Conditions:
- Office environment with frequent computer use.
- Sitting for extended periods.
- May require lifting of up to 20 lbs.
- May require nights and weekend hours.
- May require travel between locations.
