Position Summary:
The Front Desk Lead will perform a variety of clerical and patient services necessary to maintain an efficient flow of operations within clinical/ surgical office setting. The front desk lead will support our 5 San Antonio offices with a rotating schedule based on where the need is for that day. Due to the busy nature of our practices, this position may be required to work outside of an 8-hour workday as needed by the practice.
Responsibilities:
  • Supports the Office Manager by serving as a leader within the Front Desk department, including assisting with reports, team member schedules, patient concerns, and other duties as needed.
  • Provides a welcoming environment with a high level of customer service for patients to check in and out of their medical appointments.
  • Responsible for ensuring patient demographic information is correct.
  • Responsible for ensuring correct payment amounts are collected for various visit types.
  • Answers multiple phone lines, schedules appointments, assembles, maintains, locates, and files medical records.
  • Communicates effectively with other departments (call center, clinic, etc.) to ensure patients receive the highest quality of care.

Qualifications:
  • EDUCATION: Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
  • WORK EXPERIENCE: Minimum four years’ experience in a medical office/health care setting required.
  • COMPUTER SKILLS: Strong computer knowledge and skills with a minimum typing speed of 30 WPM.
  • MEDICAL TERMINOLOGY (preferred)
  • Detailed and can work with a sense of urgency when needed while providing exceptional customer service.
  • Minimum four years’ health care insurance experience
  • Strong computer knowledge and skills with a minimum typing speed of 30 WPM
  • Strong desire to assist others and provide excellent customer service
  • Must be highly dependable and organized
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills
  • The ability to learn quickly, retain training, problem solve and think independently
