Responsibilities:
- Overseeing the daily operations of the front office including appointment scheduling, patient check-ins, patient registration, insurance verifications, and other patient services.
- Supervising and training front office staff, including, training, scheduling, and conducting performance evaluations for receptionist staff.
- Developing and implementing receptionist training programs, policies, and procedures to ensure optimal performance and productivity.
- Ensuring compliance with HIPAA privacy and security regulations, OSHA standards, and other medical practice-related protocols.
- Resolving patient complaints and addressing patient concerns promptly and effectively, while maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor.
- Maintaining accurate patient records and ensuring completeness and accuracy of electronic health record (EHR) data.
- Coordinating with medical staff and other departments to ensure timely and smooth patient care services.
- Taking inventory, maintaining and ordering front desk supplies and materials.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent. Some college coursework in medical coding, medical terminology, or business administration is preferred.
- At least 4 years of medical office experience, preferably in lead or supervisory roles.
- Excellent customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively with patients, staff, and physicians.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, medical insurance policies, and billing procedures.
- Ability to operate medical office equipment and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Centricity EMR.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Bilingual (Fluent in Spanish, read, write & communicate) a plus
- Strong leadership skills and ability to work collaboratively with other departments.
