Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Lactation Consultant to join our team at Medical City Dallas. As a Lactation Consultant, you will provide expert care in lactation management according to the ILCA Standards of Practice for IBCLC Lactation Consultants. You will also participate in program development activities and serve as an expert consultant to maternal-child staff, physicians, and other healthcare professionals in the management of patients with complex breastfeeding problems.
Responsibilities
- Develop, coordinate, manage, facilitate, conduct, and evaluate onboarding and orientation programs for nursing and other healthcare personnel
- Incorporate organizational values/culture into the orientation process
- Identify learning needs of staff and assess practice gaps, comparing competencies to actual practice
- Partner with the Clinical Education Market Director to review outcomes data to evaluate and refine aptitude management activities
Requirements
- Basic Cardiac Life Support Required
- Neonate Resuscitate within 3 months of hire
- Intl Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) Required within two years of hire
- Associate Degree or Bachelors Degree in Nursing Preferred
