We are seeking a highly skilled Pediatric Respiratory Care Specialist to join our team at Medical City Dallas.
About the Role
As a vital part of our patient care team, you will provide high-quality, patient-centered respiratory care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform thorough patient assessments, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure documentation.
- Conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for, and response to, respiratory therapy interventions.
- Administer respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy as required.
- Assist with placement of artificial airways and initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation.
- Monitor patients for therapeutic responses and notify healthcare providers, intervening appropriately in case of unintended reactions.
- Provide safe transportation of ventilator-dependent patients and respond to emergent situations.
Requirements
- Possess Neonate Resuscitation certification within 30 days of employment start date.
- Hold RRT/Respiratory Care Practitioner (RRT/RCP), Certified Respiratory Therapy Technician (CRTT), or Licensed Certified Respiratory Therapist (LCRT) certifications.
- Hold State Registered Respiratory Therapist or State Certified Respiratory Therapy Technician licenses.
- Obtain BASIC Cardiac Life Support or BCLS Instructor certification within 30 days of employment start date.
- PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support or PALS Instructor certification is also required within 30 days of employment start date.
