Job Summary and Qualifications

The Monitor Tech is responsible for observation of monitors and prompt reporting of cardiac rhythm changes, transcribing physicians’ orders, and maintaining supplies. The Monitor Tech performs specific job functions while adhering to established hospital and department guidelines and must have excellent communication skills.

What you will do in this role:

• Demonstrates knowledge and ability to identify EKG rhythms.
• Must be able to successfully pass an EKG exam by 80% or better, post-job offers and within 4 weeks of start date.
• Current BLS through American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Completes a competency checklist upon hire and annually thereafter.
• Demonstrates basic computer literacy.

What qualifications you will need:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• High School Graduate / GED
• 1 year as a monitor tech or unit secretary preferred
