Description
We are looking for Medical Assistants (MA) to join our Team! The Medical Health Associates of WNY (MHA) is the largest pediatric group practice in Western New York, and the MA provides high quality care to pediatric, adolescent, and young adult patients in an office setting. This is an on-site position, not eligible for remote work.
Part-time positions are available at the following offices:
- Tonawanda Pediatrics (West Amherst)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (may include, but not limited to):
- Prepare patients for examination, obtain/record vitals, and record health history.
- Perform screenings, such as vision, hearing, and pulse ox.
- Collect and prepare laboratory specimens and/or patient samples.
- Assist provider with medical treatments, procedures, and exams.
- Explain medical procedures/treatment to patients (and family members).
- Process prescription requests.
- Accurately fill out school, camp, and day care forms for provider.
- Communicate with parents/patients regarding questions, follow-up instructions or scheduling of additional testing (as directed by supervisors of the care team).
- Prepare equipment and examination rooms, and clean instruments.
- Complete laundry and assist with stocking supplies.
- Maintain knowledge pertaining to emergency equipment supplies.
Other Duties (may include, but not limited to):
- Demonstrate the primary goal of customer satisfaction through positive interactions with patients, parents, providers, colleagues, and other members of the patient care team in a respectful, courteous, confidential, and caring manner.
- Participate in quality assurance/quality improvement programs and activities within the practice setting.
- Attend and participate in required in-service and mandatory meetings for continuous quality improvements.
- Support change and new programs to improve patient care and staff morale.
- Protect the privacy and security of confidential and sensitive patient information.
- Perform any other tasks as assigned by the manager, or as directed by a provider.

Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) preferred.
- Current CPR Certification preferred.
- Prior medical assisting experience in a medical office preferred.
- Knowledge of patient care and examination procedures preferred.
- Basic computer literacy.
- Proficiency with medical record technology.
- MEDENT experience/knowledge preferred.
Compensation: The range of pay for this position is $17.52 - $18.89 per hour
*Starting pay will vary based upon education and experience*
