General Purpose:
Under the supervision of the Practice Supervisor or designee, perform specific duties to support a busy Dermatology medical practice.
Essential Duties of the Position:
- Provides superior patient care
- Escorts patients and visitors
- Maintains comfortable, orderly, safe, and clean environment
- Prepares patients for examinations
- Measures and records vital signs
- Retrieves laboratory test results and patient files
- Collects specimens
- Prepares exam rooms, selects and lays out medical supplies
- Maintains medical equipment
- Orders and maintains inventory of supplies
- Performs clerical functions related to medical activities as assigned
- Supports providers and other personnel as assigned
- Assists training of new staff
- Ensures confidentiality and the integrity of patient information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
- Other related duties as assigned
Required Education, Experience, and Skills
- License as Practical Nurse in the state of Connecticut
- Strong attention to details.
- Superior customer service skills
- Demonstrated record of excellent attendance and reliability
- Must be able to multi-task
- EPIC experience preferred
- Current CPR certification required
- Communicates professionally, effectively, and accurately
- Excellent time management skills
- Ability to lift at least 30 pounds
- 1-2 years experience in an Dermatology medical practice preferred
