What are the responsibilities and job description for the Contract Administrator position at Medical Services of America?
Our Contract Administrator will be responsible for and supervises all operations and activities of the company’s managed care contracts, credentialing and licensing. Secures new managed care contracts, renegotiates and maintains current contracts and ensures that contract reimbursement results in optimal profitability for all divisions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
· Reviews and coordinates company operating license for operation
· Identifies opportunities & coordinates the execution and implementation of contracts.
· Collaborates with interdepartmental resources for the design, development, and implementation of a contracting relations plan and initiative to increase awareness of our services with contracted and non-contracted carriers. Meets with Corporate Contracting Committee regularly to determine contracting needs and pricing guidelines.
· Ensures all licenses are up to date and renewed timely.
· Develops and maintains a productive relationship with all our contracted and noncontracted carriers
· Ensures that managed care contract information is current and loaded accurately within the Special Price Master File and the Insurance Master File.
· Responsible for meeting face to face with payors to obtain preferred provider agreements, negotiate contracts, fee schedules and follow up on proposal status through execution of final contract.
· Ensures contract HIPAA and corporate compliance as well as profitability and that the contracts lie within the legal directives of service provision and reimbursement processes of the organization.
· Responsible to maintain exemplary customer service and relationships with all payors as well as with the managed care staff.
· Liaison with billing and collections teams and any issues that may arise with any payors.
· Establishes and maintains collaborative teamwork environment, excellent customer service with internal and external customers and excellent telephone etiquette.
· Ensures that productivity goals are met to support the organizations overall goals and objectives.
· Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
· High school diploma or GED required.
· Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred.
· Minimum of 5 years managed care experience preferred.
· Knowledge of home care products and services preferred.
· Previous supervisory and management experience preferred.
· Excellent computer skills required.
