Medical Temporaries, Inc. is currently seeking an experienced

Accounts Receivable Specialist
Minimum of 2 years of experience required in healthcare billing.

This is a FULL TIME / TEMP TO HIRE position requiring availability between the hours of 8AM-5PM, Monday through Friday, located in Virginia Beach, VA (23462).

Responsibilities :

A Day in the life of an Accounts Receivable Specialist :

As an Accounts Receivable Specialist you will be responsible for posting insurance payments, reviewing charges for office and other services and assisting patients with their accounts, both in the office and on the phone. Position requires accuracy, thoroughness and a good understanding of insurance procedures for referrals, copays, deductibles, allowables, CPT codes and Dx codes. Work is multitasked and interrupted often. Must have the ability to communicate effectively with patients.

Post patient payments

Review postings of insurance payments for proper payment

Review charges for surgeries, procedures and other services including drug injections

Cheerfully answer patient inquiries in person and on the phone

Prints and balances the day sheet and prepares receipts for deposit

Follows up on insurance company requests for additional information and denials

Reviews the accounts receivable aging report for claims that need to be refiled or followed up in some other manner

Assists with other patient service responsibilities as requested

And other duties as assigned

Requirements for the Accounts Receivable Specialist :

Required : High School Diploma or Equivalent

Required : 2 years experience billing in a health care environment

Required : Skill in computation, typing, and filing

Required : Ability to make simple mathematical computations

Required : Basic coding knowledge

Required : Good verbal communication skills

Required : Ability to pass an accounting assistant assessment

Required : Ability to pass Background Check and Drug Screen

Required : Must be reliable and a quick learner and have ability to multi-task with accuracy in a very busy environment

Required : Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications for the Accounts Receivable Specialist :

Preferred : Accounting Degree

Preferred : CPC or other coding certification (OCS or OCSR)

22.00 - $25.00 an hour depending on experience
