Medit is a global leader in digital dentistry, transforming the way dental professionals operate with our innovative 3D intraoral scanners and cutting-edge software solutions. We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our corporate office in Newport Beach, CA.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounting Operations
- Perform day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, and month-end closings.
- Ownership of key accounting functions which includes month end close reconciliations, our accounts payable process, and administration of our expense management platform
- Manage month-end and year-end closings, ensuring all journal entries and adjustments are completed on time including bank reconciliation
- Manage fixed asset schedules and depreciation calculations.
- Experience with reconcile and maintain accurate inventory records in ERP systems.
- Monitor and ensure proper classification of expenses and adherence to budgets.
Financial Reporting
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP and corporate policies.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for senior management and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with external auditors during annual audits, providing requested documentation and support.
Process Improvement and Compliance
- Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local tax regulations.
- Assist with the preparation of tax filings and support tax consultants as needed.
Team Collaboration and Support
- Work closely with the Accounting Manager to ensure smooth departmental operations.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as Sales, Operations, Marketing and HR, to provide accounting expertise and support cross-functional initiatives.
- Assist management with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
Qualifications
- The ability to commute daily to our office in Newport Beach, CA.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification is preferred but not required.
- 6 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a corporate setting.
- Software Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (experience with QB online, SAP or similar ERP systems is a plus) and advanced knowledge of Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP)Accounting Knowledge: Strong understanding of GAAP, inventory costing, and financial reporting principles.
Salary : $80,000 - $100,000
