Job Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Head of Clinical Recruitment to lead and drive patient recruitment and engagement efforts across a multi-therapeutic site network. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of experience in managing patient recruitment at a large scale, with a proven track record of building services and processes from the ground up. This position requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and teams while driving growth and efficiency in patient recruitment.
The role is based in Kansas City, with the expectation that the candidate will be on-site. However, candidates who can travel weekly during the first 6-12 months will be considered and relocation is offered for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Recruitment Strategy and Leadership:
- Lead and oversee the recruitment strategies across a multi-therapeutic site network, ensuring enrollment targets are achieved and recruitment efforts are optimized for each therapeutic area.
- Develop and manage recruitment plans for a variety of clinical trials, ensuring that they align with organizational goals and timelines.
- Build and execute scalable recruitment processes and strategies, driving efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Team and Operations Management:
- Manage a team of 10 patient recruitment specialists, providing leadership, mentorship, and development opportunities to enhance team performance.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture, ensuring teams are aligned and working towards meeting recruitment goals.
- Ensure team members are fully trained on best practices, compliance requirements, and recruitment technologies.
Patient Engagement and Community Access Programs:
- Expand and manage community access programs, creating opportunities for patient engagement, and ensuring that recruitment strategies are tailored to diverse patient populations.
- Plan and execute recruitment events that drive awareness, engagement, and enrollment for clinical trials.
P/L Management and Revenue Growth:
- Oversee the P/L for patient recruitment and engagement services, ensuring financial goals are met.
- Manage budgets, optimize resource allocation, and ensure cost-effective recruitment strategies.
- Track and report on recruitment performance, setting key revenue targets and adjusting strategies as needed to meet organizational goals.
Site and Sponsor Relations:
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including clinical sites, sponsors, and external partners, to support patient recruitment efforts.
- Leverage existing sponsor relationships to drive business development and ensure successful recruitment strategies.
- Provide leadership in managing and optimizing patient recruitment across a multi-therapeutic site network.
- Process Optimization and Technology Integration:
- Build out and refine recruitment processes to ensure scalability and efficiency.
- Oversee the optimization of Clinical Trial Management Systems (CTMS) and patient recruitment platforms (such as CRIO), ensuring that the technology is used effectively to support recruitment activities.
- Utilize data to continuously improve recruitment strategies and drive performance.
Travel and Site Support:
- Travel to clinical sites within the network as necessary, ensuring the seamless execution of recruitment strategies and providing ongoing support to sites.
- Ability to travel weekly during the first 6-12 months of the role to build and maintain relationships across the network.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree is required.
Experience:
- 5 years of experience managing patient recruitment for clinical trials within a multi-therapeutic site network.
- Proven experience managing P/L for patient recruitment and engagement services.
- Strong background in building and expanding community access programs and planning recruitment events.
- Experience managing teams of 10 recruitment specialists.
- Proven track record of supporting patient recruitment across multi-therapeutic areas and hitting key revenue targets.
Salary : $160,000 - $180,000
