Job purpose
Manages parts operation within the branch to maximize return on investment through: optimizing parts department processes to ensure internal and external customer satisfaction; growing profitable part sales; exercising disciplined expenses control; attracting and retaining outstanding talent and effectively engaging department personnel
Duties and responsibilities
- Develops, monitors, and maintains effective Parts Department processes to ensure internal and external customer satisfaction
- Creates annual parts department goals and budget, in alignment with the organization’s financial and operational objectives
- Effectively inventory Management
- Conducts an annual physical inventory of all parts and related inventories
- Submits all parts warranty and return claims within the required time frame to receive maximum credit
- Maximizes use of all order discount programs
- Maintains all department tools, equipment, and vehicles in good working order
- Ensure adherence to all branch policies and procedures
- Maintain an inventory for service department, and coordinates with various vendors to obtain all discounts
- Train all employees to work efficiently with all customers and parts and to ensure effectiveness of all warehouse operations according to objectives and prepares appropriate forecasts
- Identify and resolve all issues in parts department, and ensure achievement of all short and long term objectives
- Manage all purchase orders and resolve any discrepancy for all purchase orders
- Train all parts personnel in sales and inventory procedures.
- Participate in all sales meetings
- Ensure and maintain effective training standards for all employees
- Control purchasing and ordering procedures to maintain department profitability
- Check, inspect, and authorize all necessary orders, requisitions, and purchase orders
- Ensure all incoming parts are checked for conformity and price. Return any non-conformity or damaged part with credit request or insurance claim
- Ensure smooth flow of paperwork
- Maintain shipping and receiving timetables
- Research parts for techs and customers
- Perform other assigned tasks from branch manager and/or corporate parts manager
- Conduct periodic parts inventory
Qualifications
Education/Experience
- High School Diploma or GED, and
- 5 years in parts, and
- 2 years in management

Physical requirements
