Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Buyer to join our procurement team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing high-quality materials and services that meet the needs of our organization. This role requires a strong understanding of manufacturing, quality management, contract negotiation, and category management, as well as proficiency in procurement systems such as SAP. The Buyer will play a crucial role in ensuring that our supply chain operates efficiently and effectively while adhering to Federal Acquisition Regulations.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough market research to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their offerings.
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure favorable terms and pricing.
- Collaborate with internal teams to understand material requirements and specifications for various projects.
- Manage the procurement process from sourcing to delivery, ensuring timely fulfillment of orders.
- Monitor supplier performance and quality management to ensure compliance with company standards.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and supplier communications in procurement systems like SAP .
- Develop and implement category management strategies to optimize purchasing decisions across different product lines.
- Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes that may impact procurement activities.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of sourcing and procurement processes.
- Proficiency in quality management practices related to materials and services.
- Experience with contract negotiation and management.
- Familiarity with SAPfor procurement activities is highly desirable.
- Understanding of Federal Acquisition Regulations is a plus.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to evaluate supplier performance critically.
